LITMUS Multilingual Assessment Instrument for Narratives (MAIN) targets potentially diagnostic features manifested in narrative and discourse from six areas: lexicon, morphosyntax, syntax, narrative structure, discourse features, and fluency features It includes telling and retelling tasks that involve responses to picture stimuli and scripts constructed and designed to examine both macrostructure and microstructure information in narrative production.
This task was created initially as part of the COST Action IS0804 'Language Impairment in a Multilingual Society: Linguistic Patterns and the Road to Assessment' funded by the EU RTD Framework Programme.
After the end of the funding period, the task was further developed and adapted for more languages.
